Ecumen Prairie Hill has opened, providing independent living, assisted living and memory care in Saint Peter, Minnesota. It's the second Saint Peter assisted living community by Ecumen, located just down the road from Ecumen Sand Prairie.

Ecumen Prairie Hill, which features 63 apartments on three stories, is located at 1305 Marshall Street in Saint Peter, just north of Dodd Street near Klein Avenue. A few blocks from Gustavus Adolphus College, Ecumen Prairie Hill also is located across the street from Saint Peter’s River Edge Hospital and Clinic.

“I like to say we’ve built a ‘cruise ship on land in Saint Peter,’” said Ecumen director of real estate development Tom Opatz, who oversaw design and construction. “Ecumen Prairie Hill has many services and amenities, and we’re conveniently located for people to enjoy the city of Saint Peter.”

The new Saint Peter senior community consists of 2-bedroom, 1-bedroom plus den, 1-bedroom and studio apartments. Ecumen Prairie Hill has spacious common areas with many neat features. For example, the dining room has a “Living Wall,” made up of a floor-to-ceiling waterfall and natural plantings. The Living Wall’s filtration system converts carbon dioxide to oxygen, feeding the plants. Happy Hour is held daily at Ecumen Prairie Hill’s Countryside Lounge. The lounge and other areas, such as the fitness center, feature large-screen LED televisions, and the building is wired for high-speed internet. Outside the building are extensive walking trails, which connect with the City of Saint Peter’s trails. Abundant native plantings, which require less watering, provide beauty while helping conserve water use.

Ecumen Prairie Hill’s memory care apartments are another great asset for the Saint Peter community. They feature one-bedroom and studio residences. Common areas include a community kitchen and dining area, and a garden and exercise area.
