Ecumen is expanding in Apple Valley, Minnesota with a new senior housing community in the Central Village neighborhood. This is the second Apple Valley expansion in the last year for Ecumen. In 2009 it opened a new memory care neighborhood at its Centennial House community on Pennock Avenue.

“We greatly enjoy being part of the Apple Valley community and are looking forward to bringing more high-quality housing and services to area residents,” said Steve Ordahl, Ecumen’s senior vice president of business development. “This site will be a very appealing, convenient place to live.”

The $27 million Apple Valley community is anticipated to open in early 2011. It is being financed with HUD (Housing and Urban Development) 232 financing. The 220,500 square foot community will have 134 market-rate apartments on four levels, including 106 one- and two-bedroom independent living and assisted living apartments, where residents can add a la carte supportive services as they want them. A memory care neighborhood will feature 14 apartments, as will an enhanced care neighborhood for residents with more intensive care needs.

The new Ecumen community will be located at 15359 Founders Lane in the 60-acre Central Village development. Amenities at the Ecumen community will include a movie theater, pub, café for casual dining, main dining room, private dining room, gardening room, arts studio, fitness center, library, education room, and more.
